The Ak Zal pavilion on Liberty Boulevard at dusk

Ak Zal (the White Hall) is the contemporary art space of the Körköm Foundation. It opened on 24 September 2022 in a pavilion designed by the architect Taiyr Bektenov: one room of 900 square metres under a glass roof, and a mezzanine for video and works on paper.

Ak Zal shows three or four exhibitions a year by living Iradi artists, and once a year the Körköm Young Artists Grant. Entry is free, always. On Thursday evenings, Ak Zal Nights bring talks, music and the bar.
